My mama always makes cinnamon rolls in winter.
It was such a highlight on a dark wintery afternoon to hear her wheat grinder at work and smell the dough rising.
A crackling fire in the woodstove, a warm cinnamon roll and my mother humming in the kitchen…. winter was nothing but an opportunity for warmth.
Makes me want to be a kid again…just for the day.
I still use her original rolling pin. 🙂
I’m glad my own children get that same warm, cozy feeling when they smell mine baking.
These hearty cinnamon rolls are made with freshly ground whole wheat flour, sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon and send their delightful fragrance to every nook and cranny of your home!
